First Playable Version


The first playable version of Rise 2.0 is now available for browser play and download! I want to allow people to play this as soon as possible so I'm putting this out in a rather incomplete state. Many features of the game are only partly working and some menus do not work at all. The game itself should be stable and I would be surprised if it crashes on you though.

If you played the original Rise you'll know that the mechanics seen in this version are almost exactly the same. As development progresses, I will be touching on every aspect of the game to make small changes and improvements. The end goal is to make a polished and complete game that ALSO has good looking visuals.

Another thing you might notice is that I am using the same assets that I used to create the levels in the original game. This was done to quickly get the project up and running. In future versions I will be implementing new art that strays from the minimalist approach to add a bit more detail to scenes. I don't want to add too much detail since I think that it would harm the visual appeal of the game.

Music is arguably the most important part of this game and so I will be adding a bunch of new tracks for this game. In this version I re-used some of the tracks from the original game but they will not be staying. I hope to add a much larger variety of sounds with this game so that you can listen for long periods without hearing repeats.
